ELWOOD, Ind. (Feb 27, 2023) – Red Gold of Elwood, Indiana honored six growers with the Red Gold Master Grower Award at Red Gold’s 32nd Annual Grower’s Banquet. All the Master Growers were awarded with a Red Gold plaque. The Master Growers were Birky Farms of Valparaiso, Indiana receiving their 2nd Master Grower Award, Daily Farms of Kokomo, Indiana receiving their 9th Master Grower Award, Janssen Brothers Farms of Monroe, Michigan receiving their 9th Master Grower Award, Niese Ag of Pandora, Ohio receiving their 4th Master Grower Award, Rice Farm of Wanatah, Indiana receiving their 11th Master Grower Award and Schulte’s Produce of Pandora, Ohio receiving their 4th Master Grower Award. The Master Grower Award is given away each year to recipients who have distinguished themselves from others by delivering quality production, while exhibiting industry leadership and professionalism. All growers for Red Gold had training on good production practices, employee safety and human resources.
Out of the six growers that were awarded with the Master Grower Award, Rice Farms of Wanatah, Indiana was awarded with the coveted E.A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award to honor them as the Tomato Grower of the Year. This was Rice’s third time being awarded the E.A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award. The Reichart Family was please to present the award to Scott and James Rice from Rice Farms.
